About the resource

Runbooks for the people still carrying the pager

Small Crew Runbooks is a practical Hoyack resource for owners, operators, fractional CTOs, and small technical teams maintaining services without a dedicated SRE bench.

What belongs here

Short, copy-ready guidance for incident response, deployment, monitoring, service handoff, postmortems, and vendor or security due diligence. Every page should help a small team produce evidence and make the next safer decision.

What does not

No fictional captain, fake crew stories, military theater, client logos, testimonials, or claims that a checklist guarantees reliability. Examples do not contain real client or confidential incident information.

The Hoyack relationship

Small Crew Runbooks is published by Hoyack. Its practical guides support Hoyack's Managed DevOps, orphan application adoption, and technical rescue work. Commercial referrals are disclosed; the runbooks remain available without a signup wall.

Use and adapt

These checklists are starting points. Adapt them to the service, legal obligations, threat model, and staffing model. For corrections, email hello@hoyack.com.
